In the 1st century BC Thrace, Kersas, the only son of the king who rules over the dahai tribes in the mountains, is trying to make a name for himself as a chieftain in his own stronghold. Young and often close to recklessness, one winter he decides to make a daring raid into a border citadel, triggering a chain of events that would eventually lead him to his destined fate.
